Does the pH of my drink water matter?

Does the pH of my drink water matter? Most municipal and bottled water has a pH between 6.5 and 8.5

The pH of your drinking water generally doesn't matter.

Most municipal and bottled water has a pH between 6.5 and 8.5, which is considered safe for consumption. The human body has its own internal mechanisms to maintain a balanced pH, so consuming slightly acidic or alkaline water typically doesn't have a significant impact.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Extreme pH levels: If your water has a pH far outside the normal range (very acidic or very alkaline), it could be a sign of contamination.
  • Taste and odor: Extremely acidic or alkaline water might have an unpleasant taste or odor.
  • Corrosion: Very acidic water can corrode metal pipes and appliances, potentially leading to the release of harmful substances into the water.

If you have concerns about the quality of your drinking water you can test the pH
